The problem
It was an attempt at a social media outlet with legal knowledge for laypeople, for the general public, helping with rights education, which is one of the Public Defender’s Office’s missions.
What was built
The @dicasdodefensor profile on Instagram. It was worthwhile during the pandemic.
What went wrong
I didn’t get the traction to keep up the pace of content production. The profile also drew many people who wanted to know about the Public Defender’s Office, and it became a spot for people studying for the public defender exam, looking to get a feel for the Defensoria’s issues. I always talked about a defender’s routine. That pulled it away from the original purpose, which was to talk to laypeople, people with no legal training at all.
But I made a great friend through the profile.
